Just when you think things can't get any more screwed up in the USA, Donald Trump opens his mouth again. This time, he's abandoned our allies The Kurds, leaving them susceptible to being annihilated by Turkey. We'll examine what's at stake with author, State Dept veteran and academic David L. Phillips who wrote about Trump's betrayal of the Kurds here. Then, with the start of the news Supreme Court term comes a new book from Thom Hartmann. He joins us today to discuss The Hidden History of the Supreme Court and the Betrayal of America.
It's a very busy Wednesday on The Nicole Sandler Show. As usual, we'll get to the latest news of the day including Bernie Sanders' speech on Democratic Socialism, but today's show also features two great guests. Investigative journalist Jason Leopold checks in to update us on the amazing work he's been doing to get the redacted parts of the Mueller report uncovered and more. And Thom Hartmann joins in to talk about his new book, The Hidden History of Guns and the Second Amendment.
This week, I'll be guest hosting the Randi Rhodes Show in addition to my own show here at RadioOrNot. To any of Randi's fans coming here for info, she's just taking a week off and will be back at her microphone on Monday. I promise! Today, I'm honored to speak with Thom Hartmann. He'll join me on both shows to talk about his latest project, Last Hours. The first short video in the series is available at that link, and right here: I hope you'll take the few minutes to watch it, and listen to our discussions today. I just [...]
I can't express how grateful I am to both Randi Rhodes and Thom Hartmann for trusting me with their microphones and audiences. I've been the regular guest host for Randi for three years now, and have filled in for Thom Hartmann on occasion since the Air America days. I had the opportunity to guest host the Thom Hartmann Program Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week. In case you missed those shows, here they are... It's deja vu all over again as a completely unqualified candidate could be one heartbeat away from the presidency. Say what you will about Paul Lyin' Ryan, he's in good shape. The picture above and the others in Time's pictorial published today were taken in December of last year when the congressman from Wisconsin was named one of the magazine's runners up for Person of the Year and show the vp-wannabe looking truly less-than-presidential. Thanks Time for sharing these pics on the day of the one and only debate between Ryan and VP Joe Biden. Those aren't the only completely wrong photos [...]
I'll be filling in for Thom Hartmann for the rest of the week, so it's a busy one... On my show this morning, I'll chat with Media Trainer Joel Silberman about last week's presidential debate and tomorrow night's VP debate. We'll find out what what went wrong on Wednesday night, and get some advice for Joe Biden. Amy Simon of She's History will weigh in with some fabulous female facts. And John Amato of Crooks & Liars will weigh in on the election and how the media is now fixated on Twitter! Check in later for info about topics on [...]
Wondering what it would take to get Americans walking like Egyptians these days. According to a report I saw numerous times on Al Jazeera English this weekend, the conditions that led to Egyptians taking to the streets to take control of their government are much like what we are experiencing here in US these days: High unemployment, growing poverty, huge divide between the rich and the poor, too many "businessmen" in government. Seriously. I had the honor of being a guest on Thom Hartmann's TV show, "The Big Picture" Thursday evening to talk about the plight of the 99ers. Interesting, [...]
I think I'm the happiest unemployed radio personality around. I regularly get to guest host The Randi Rhodes Show. And today I got to fill in for Thom Hartmann! Seriously, next to having my own show again, nothing could be better. Thom is in the middle of a move to Washington DC, but late last night they realized that the new studio wouldn't be ready for today's show. So, I awoke this morning to an email asking if I was available. Duh! So, after my show (and after pulling out an old interview with Ralph Nader to run during the [...]
