3-17-15 Nicole Sandler Show – St. Patty’s Day from Iraq to Chicago

On this St. Patrick's Day, Nicole talks with World Beyond War's David Swanson about this week's #SpringRising actions in DC marking 12 years since we invaded Iraq. And author Rick Perlstein checks in from Chicago where Rahm Emanuel might be defeated by a progressive in the mayoral race!

Déjà Vu Again

Nicole talks about the madness that is the US involvement in yet another war, and the lip service being paid to climate change. Guests include Susie Madrak of Crooks & Liars, and World Beyond War's David Swanson. Plus Osceola County (FL) commission candidate Viviana Janer who was fired by Marriott because she wouldn't quit the race tells us about what happened.

World Beyond War

Imagine a world a peace. A world where warfare is not the go-to strategy when conflict arises. It's an especially important vision today, when Iraq is, once again, a bloody mess. And it sickens me even more because the US is wholly responsible for that. Author and activist David Swanson, and retired Naval Commander and former national president of Veterans for Peace Leah Bolger joined me today to talk about this new project they're working on, World Beyond War: a global movement to end all wars. If ever there was a truly worthy goal, that's it. I've joined in to [...]

Dumped!

Nicole Sandler talks about Dick Armey dumping the Tea Party and Freedom Works, and more about the right wing reaction to Bob Costas comments on gun violence. Stephen Goldstein tells us why not to trust Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush or Charlie Crist, and David Swanson talks about the reasons Susan Rice should not be SoS and more...

Kiss My Ass

Listen to this episode: {play}http://traffic.libsyn.com/radioornot/20120731_Nicole_Sandler_Show_-_Kiss_My_Ass.mp3 {/play} Podcast: Play in new window   Putting the cherry on top of his truly horrible European trip - ostensibly embarked up to shore up his foreign affairs bona fides - Mitt Romney's traveling press secretary Rick Gorka told the traveling press corps to "Kiss my ass" in the breath before he berated them for uncouth behavior at a "Holy site for Polish people."  Seriously, even I couldn't make up shit this good... er bad...     That came less than 24 hours after Romney, somehow managed to offend both the Israelis and the Palestinians [...]

Today’s Show – Wed Nov 9

I don't know when or where this picture was taken - but it was obviously a few years ago, and is obviously Herman (Koch) Cain standing right next to Sharon Bialek.  Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive .... I opened the show this morning with some of Koch-Cain's more obvious lies and sickening statements...  Then we moved on to some good news.  After hearing today's  90 Second Summary from Main Street Insider I spoke with Jeremy Koulish about yesterday's election results -- it turned out to be a pretty good day [...]

This Week in Weirdness

So far, 2011 has been a strange year. And this week might just win the weirdness award. Let's recap... Keith Olbermann suddenly departs MSNBC (on the first anniversary of the end of Air America and the Supreme Court ruling overturning 100 years of law in the Citizens United v FEC case); the President adopts GOP themes in his State of the Union address, including tort reform and lowering corporate taxes; cross-aisle dates for the SOTU; and the strangest of strange: Dennis Kucinich sues the House cafeteria over an olive pit in his veggie wrap. That's all not to mention the [...]

War Is A Lie and New Fools Head for the Hill!

It's Monday... so we'll visit with Nicole Belle of Crooks and Liars as we do every Monday morning for our "Fools on the Hill" segment, recapping the Sunday talking head shows.  And yes, we have a whole crop of new and bigger fools heading for the Hill...and we'll hear from at least one of them today. In the first hour, I'll be joined by my favorite activist, David Swanson, whose new book, War Is A Lie, hits stores today. This weekend, I participated in a voiceover workshop... and one of the exercises was to write and deliver a rant, in [...]

Vote!

It's finally here. Regardless of how the day ends, one thing is good... no more of those horrendous political ads, for a while anyway. My predictions?  I'll stay optimistic and say that the Dems will retain control of both houses of Congress, though just barely.   The one good thing that will come of today is that many of the Blue Dogs & ConservaDems (Blanche Lincoln, Bobby Bright and others of your ilk, yes, I'm talking to you) will be purged from our government.  The Democratic caucus will be smaller, but more progressive.  And that's a good thing. But it'll take [...]
