Joel Silberman returns to the show today after missing yesterday to witness the Supreme Court arguments in Friedrichs et al v California Teachers Association et al. Warning: it was ugly, and Joel tells us all about it. In hour two, to lighten the mood, GottaLaff! Plus a big announcement from MoveOn.org too.

This morning, I was thrilled to make it official and welcome GottaLaff to Radio Or Not! I know, you're thinking, "Laffy has been doing the show on Tuesday mornings with Nicole for years. What's this all about?" (sure you are...). Well, after running The Political Carnival for so long, Laffy needs to take it a little easier. So, from here on out, when she decides to write a post, it'll show up here at Laffy's Place at RoN. Laffy continues with me each Tuesday morning for snark and fun during the second hour of each show, and that tradition [...]
With so much focus on the horrific Hobby Lobby Supreme Court decision, we seem to have forgotten about the millions of workers who'll be screwed by the other decision handed down by the Court on Monday in Harris v Quinn. As my friend Dave Johnson wrote at OurFuture.org, In case you were wondering why it is so hard for regular working people to get ahead in our economy, look no further than today’s Harris v. Quinn Supreme Court decision. In the usual 5-4 pattern, the corporate-conservatives on the Supreme Court struck another blow against the rights of working people to organize [...]
The Supreme Court has now adjourned until the first Monday in October. My only wish is that they all ride off into obscurity. Or at least the five of them who insisted on being on the wrong side of everything today. The justices decided to wait until today to render their final two opinions - one that sticks a knife through the heart of organized labor in the US, the other further eroding the separation of church and state - and underscoring the second class citizen status of women in America. The first decision offered this morning was in Harris v. [...]
That's who I felt like today, ranting and raving about the madness that's taken over, seemingly, EVERYTHING! From the bullshit about Benghazi, to the wrong outrage over the IRS, to Apple and others dodging their taxes, to cutting programs for the neediest among us, to the epidemic of sexual assault in the military, to the dysfunction in Washington, to the warming of our planet, to the vilification of teachers and civil servants and union members, to wimpy appeasing politicians.... I could continue, but I think you get the idea. We talked about all of these subjects and more today with [...]
Nicole recaps last night's 12-12-12 concert. Speaks with MI blogger Chris Savage @elclectablog about the Fox video editing, Howie Klein about the fiscal negotiations, Boca Britany and Maysoon Zayid too.
On 12-12-12, Nicole talked about the latest crazy shooting rampage in Portland and the assault on labor in Michigan. Guests include Lisa Graves of the Center for Media & Democracy and John Amato of Crooks & Liars.
I don't know when or where this picture was taken - but it was obviously a few years ago, and is obviously Herman (Koch) Cain standing right next to Sharon Bialek. Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive .... I opened the show this morning with some of Koch-Cain's more obvious lies and sickening statements... Then we moved on to some good news. After hearing today's 90 Second Summary from Main Street Insider I spoke with Jeremy Koulish about yesterday's election results -- it turned out to be a pretty good day [...]
