Download here or click below to play, (or watch the video at the bottom of the page!) We usually spend Tuesdays with @GottaLaff, discussing what's happening in the news as gleaned from her Twitter stream. Laffy has been dealing with a horribly painful case of tendinitis, affecting both hands! She's been in physical therapy and hopes to be able to rejoin us sometime soon. Today, filling her big shoes is Julianna Forlano, who you can usually catch over at act.tv. Today, we'll dish on the news, and there's lots to talk about. At the top of the show, I [...]
Download here or click below to play, (or watch the video at the bottom of the page!) Today is Day 48 of the Biden administration, and we're one day closer to a bit of relief. The House today passed the Senate's revised version of the American Rescue Plan Act. Next it goes to the White House for President Biden's signature. Tomorrow night, he begins the process of explaining what's in it to the American people! I think this is the perfect time to take stock of where we are, and look at Biden's first 48 days in office through [...]
It's been another crazy, news-filled week in America. Nicole welcomes comedian, broadcaster and senior correspondent at act.tv, Julianna Forlano back to the show to look back on the week that might mark the end of the beginning of the Trump-Russia probe...maybe. See the video Julianna shot at Trump Tower yesterday where a group read the new children's book "Goodnight Trump"
Nicole Sandler begins the show as usual, with an update on the news of the day. Then she's joined by comedian and commentator Julianna Forlano of act.tv. Check out her latest article at democrats.com.
Act.TV's Julianna Forlano is covering protests this week in NYC and joins in to talk about them and more today with Nicole Sandler. Here's Julianna at yesterday's May Day rally and march in New York. This Saturday, she'll be covering the NYC Cannabis Parade. She did warn us that our political climate is working to outlaw our freedom to protest and assemble.
Tomorrow marks one year since Donald Trump was sworn in as president. Sunday is the anniversary of the massive Women's March that happened all over the world to push back. This year, there are marches all weekend - just click on the link and find one near you. Here in South Florida, there's an event on Sunday in the Wynwood section of Miami. Friend of the show Julianna Forlano returned today to talk about the march in NYC which she'll be covering live for act.tv, and a year with Trump in the White House... Here's Julianna's article, 5 Good Reasons for [...]
I'm still stunned by the events in Charlottesville this weekend, and absolutely floored by D'ump's press conference yesterday in which he blamed the counter protesters for the violence. I took some listener calls, and read another great editorial by Washington Post conservative blogger Jennifer Rubin, "Republicans, cut the outrage. It’s time to disown Trump." Julianna Forlano joined in to tell us about seeing Michael Moore's Terms of My Surrender on Broadway and trying to remain calm in the face of creeping fascism. I mentioned the Vice coverage of the Charlottesville mess, and promised to post it here. Please watch it. [...]
There are shakeups in the White House with Anthony Scaramucci in as Communications Director and Sean Spicer out as Press Secretary. And Julianna Forlano returns to the show.
Friday's show is now posted. Sorry for the delay. I'm juggling a lot of balls these days. Julianna Forlano joined in during the first hour, helping me recap the Democratic National Convention. Although the speech by Khizr Khan, the father of a Muslim soldier killed while fighting for the US, was certainly the most amazing moment of the convention... I still marvel at the brilliance of Rev. Dr. William Barber. I hope every hypocritical Republican who claims to have the moral high ground got to hear him. I spoke with a couple of Bernie delegates, including my attorney Bruce [...]
It's finally Friday, after a long, exhausting week. Not only were our nation's most troubled people on display for the whole world to ogle, the lead sociopath could very well be elected President of the United States. Opposite world, indeed. The Republican convention finally ended last night, and next week it's on to Philly. We'll be checking in with our Bernie delegates on the ground to give us the scoop on what goes on inside the arena. In the first hour of today's show, I ran through some of the more surreal moments from the GOP confab, with an [...]
