Nicole recaps last night's farce of a gubernatorial debate, including the fan-tastic idiocy of Rick Scott. Randi Weingarten, president of AFT (the 2nd largest teachers union) joins to tell about this morning's conference call on Ebola. And Amy Simon of She's History brings some fabulous female facts.
I'm home after 10 days on the road to cover the American Federation of Teachers convention in Los Angeles and Netroots Nation '14 in Detroit. It was actually anything but a vacation, but I do thrive on the action, and there was plenty of that. To recap the trip, all you need do is listen to the shows from the past week or so. (Find them here, here, here, here and my interview with the amazing Rev. Dr. William Barber is posted as a standalone interview here) Now that I'm back home, I have the luxury of sitting back [...]
The 2014 AFT convention wraps up today, and I'm thrilled that I was able to be here to cover it. After all, our future depends on these people who, in many cases, spend more times with our children than their parents do. From an inspirational, fiery and fierce speech from Moral Mondays' founder Reverend Dr. William Barber, to the always amazing AFT President Randi Weingarten's [...]
I awoke this morning in beautiful downtown Los Angeles. I'm here to cover the American Federation of Teachers convention before heading to Detroit for Netroots Nation. I'll find out all the details for the AFT convention later this morning, and will update this post with a working schedule. That said, there will be no live show this morning. However, since it's Friday, I thought we'd do a special double-header Flashback Friday edition. Each Friday, I dig into my radio archives and pull out an interview from my music radio days. Today, we go back to 1999 and 2000 to speak [...]
