Download here or click below to play, (or watch the video at the bottom of the page!) It's a new week and a new month, but we're still fighting old battles. Some of those old battles are getting really old by now... like the latest obstruction from the senator from West Virginia who must be on some kind of a weird power trip right now. As regular listeners of this show know, I'm in Florida. Our governor embodies the worst of Trump. If Florida is to survive, we must get rid of this clown. In the last couple of [...]
Download here or click below to play It's Friday, and some of us made it through this week. What a week it was. The sitting president incited his cult followers to insurrection. I'll have the latest news on the efforts to keep the traitor Trump from damaging our nation any further in the 12 days left before he's evicted from the White House. After the very serious news, I'll correct a case of mistaken identity-- it WASN'T Jeff Daniels, but really a talented man named Bruce W. Nelson! (Follow the link to his YouTube channel and tons of great [...]
It should be a busy news day, as we're waiting for the sentencing memos from Mueller's office on Manafort and Michael Cohen. If they're released before the show ends, we'll bring you the details, in addition to the rest of the news of the day. Nicole is joined by her fellow Floridian, Deborah Newell Tornello, for another edition of Oy FloriDUH to complete your Chanukah celebrations.
Yesterday, I talked about working out the conflicts of our inner voices, though some people thought I "went too far." Others thanked me for being "spot on." All I know is all I know. Today, it's that the world continues down its pathway of madness. People hear what they want to hear instead of actually listening to what's being said. We talk past one another instead of with each other. Until we learn to shut up and listen, we're bound to continue making the same mistakes. Today, I talked a bit about that disconnect. I praised the celebration of [...]
We awoke to an awful déjà vu this morning. Another black man was killed by cops in a show of excessive, brutal police force. Alton Sterling, a 37-year old father of five, was selling CDs in front of a convenience store, something he did regularly to help support his family. Someone called the cops on him, and now Alton Sterling is dead. We are talking about it because someone captured the shooting on video. And now a second video has surfaced. And tomorrow, the trial begins for the most senior of the cops who was involved in the wild [...]
I'm conflicted, in case I haven't already made that clear. As I wrote earlier this morning when introducing Mimi Kennedy's guest post, I can't imagine myself voting for Hillary Clinton for president, but even more inconceivable to me is the idea of a Donald Trump presidency! The good news is that I still have about five months before I have to decide what I'll do come election day. This is the time for looking at the big picture, which is what Bernie Sanders did in an op-ed for the NY Times titled "Democrats Need to Wake Up." I read the [...]
Today, Nicole Sandler invites her listeners down to the swampy southland known as Florida (FloriDUH to most of us). Deborah Newell joins in for our weekly segment poking fun at FloriDUH, Sanders delegate to the DNC from Palm Beach County, Hillary Keyes, will fill us in on the process and what happens next. And Nicole pulls out a blast from the past - a 2007 interview with Debbie Wasserman Schultz to show how long she's been at odds with the (soon to be former?) DNC Chair.
On Wednesday mornings, Nicole hangs with her fellow FloriDUHian Deborah Newell to poke some fun at the state that is the nation's dick. In addition to today Floriduh files and a recap of last night's primary results, we'll go back in time 5 years to the night Nicole was arrested for committing democracy, underscoring our need to fight on for what's important. And a detour to talk with the 10 year old girl who sang with Bruce Springsteen Monday night.
It was a tough night last night, but Nicole Sandler is here to point out the many silver linings in #StillSanders-land. Dave Johnson of the Campaign for America's Future joins in to help put things in perspective. And Deborah Newell returns for our Wednesday morning Oy FloriDUH session, with a 4/20 detour to the "Patients Out of Time" conference.
Think the 2016 race is the ugliest ever? Think again. Today, Nicole Sandler speaks with Joseph Cummins, author of "Anything for a Vote: Dirty Tricks, Cheap Shots and October Surprises in US Presidential Campaigns". And Deborah Newell brings us some stories from the Oy, FloriDUH files. And WTF Tom Hayden??
