Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC is Nicole's regular guest every Thursday. Today, they're joined by Janelle Christensen, president of the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida. She came up with a great idea to win control of the state back from the Republicans. We'll also check in with former CIA operative Jack Rice. He weighs in on the Russia bounty for dead American soldiers story. Jack lives in Minneapolis and is a criminal defense attorney, and has a unique perspective on the cross section of news events we're now living through.
I know the headline sounds the the start of a joke, but Jack Rice is all of those things and more. He just returned from a stint at the International Criminal Court at The Hague, and weighs in on the insanity here - from impeachment to crimes and misdemeanors. As always, we'll begin with a bit of the news of the day... I know the headline sounds the the start of a joke, but Jack Rice is all of those things and more. Nicole Sandler checks in with UK Progressive publisher and Three Muckrakers host Denis Campbell to get the British perspective on Trump's trip there. Former CIA operative Jack Rice weighs in on the president's big blunder(s) from an intelligence professional's point of view.
Trial Lawyer and former CIA agent Jack Rice joins in today to talk about the latest in the Trump saga, including the FBI raids on his attorney Michael Cohen's home and office.
The House Intelligence Committee today released the long-threatened memo that turned out to be not much of anything. At the top of the show, I spoke with former CIA agent Jack Rice about the dangers of releasing classified information, and the memo. I shared some of Jennifer Rubin's Washington Post column about the memo on the show. You can read the whole thing here. Then we turned to history with Joshua Zeitz, author of the new book, Building the Great Society Inside Lyndon Johnson's White House.
It's a good thing it's Friday, as I don't think we could take another day of this week. Today, the resident tweeted a threat at Comey, that also insinuated that he secretly tapes visitors to the White House! James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 12, 2017 And he threatened to end all White House Press Briefings As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with perfect accuracy!.... — [...]
It's a busy Wednesday. Former CIA officer Jack Rice was up first to talk about the latest on Syria, Russia, FISA warrant for Carter Page and more intrigue. And to lighten the mood, my fellow FloriDUHian Deborah Newell returns for another segment of Oy FloriDUH
My old pal Jack Rice joined me on today's show. Since Jack is not only an attorney and journalist, but also spent some time in the field for the CIA, I thought he'd be the perfect guest to comment on the insanity that is Donald Trump. As I expected, he offered some great insight. But the one thing that really came crystal clear for me is the level of D'ump's insecurities. The fact that he had to go on and on about the size of the crowd at the inauguration (reports have surfaced that he called the director of the [...]
That's what I spent the last four days looking at, which truly helped me unplug for a while. The picture below is the view of the house if you turn around. It's my sister's house on Lake Weir in Oklawaha, FL, just outside of Ocala. My favorite part of the house is right there... just to the left of the tree. See the wooden gate? That's an outdoor shower! As you shower, you look out at the lake (top picture). Not too bad, huh? And we did some hiking! And went to Silver Springs, and an actual Drive-In, [...]
Less than an hour after I finished tonight's show, the Senate passed the financial regulation bill by a vote of 59-39. The two Democrats who voted against cloture yesterday and again today, Russ Feingold and Maria Cantwell, also voted against the final bill. And I agree with them. They held out because they didn't believe the bill was strong enough. They both wanted amendments brought to the floor that would have strengthened the bill, by bringing back Glass-Steagall and ending "too big to fail." Huffington Post reports: "We need to eliminate the risk posed to our economy by 'too big [...]
