The House Judiciary Committee is today debating the two articles of impeachment introduced earlier this week, and a vote out of committee is expected later today. We'll share some of the high and low points, along with the rest of the news. The News Has Been Canceled

You cannot get a real news report via broadcast or cable news any more. With the exception of a few shows, it's corporate controlled drek through which one must wade to try to pull some facts. But the truth is, there's so much news to discuss. I just wish some of it was good. The word from Japan seems to get scarier by the minute. Wednesday Busy Wednesday

What a show we have for you tonight. Unfortunately, I have no time for the rest of the interviews I taped at Netroots Nation... all the more reason to tune in tomorrow night! Of course, the big story today comes from Arizona, where US District Court Judge Susan Bolton blocked the most controversial sections of SB 1070, which was slated to take effect tomorrow. The law will still go into effect tomorrow, but without the most heinous provisions-- including the sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws, and the parts that required immigrants [...]

I just finished reading a piece penned by the late, great Howard Zinn entitled "Put Away the Flags," which pretty much sums up how I'm feeling on this 4th of July. "Is not nationalism -- that devotion to a flag, an anthem, a boundary so fierce it engenders mass murder -- one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred? ...
