Download here or click below to play, (or watch the video at the bottom of the page!) It's Monday, the start of a new week, and things are really tense in Minnesota. The trial of the former cop who killed George Floyd enters its third week. And yesterday in Brooklyn Center, MN - about 10 miles away- a cop shot and killed another unarmed young Black man for no reason. And we learned about another cop abusing a motorist, this one in Virginia. And just before we hit the air, we learned about another school shooting in Knoxville, [...]
Download here or click below to play, (or watch the video at the bottom of the page!) It's another Thursday so Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC is here to talk politics. The Biden administration has, so far, been the most progressive in recent history. I'll see if I can get Howie to admit that fact! House Democrats yesterday introduced the Medicare for All Act of 2021 and it appears that my congressman is jumping in with the progressives! I shared some video of Ted Deutch's shout out to my friend, the late Mitchell [...]
The Nicole Sandler Show is headquartered in South Florida. Tropical Storm Dorian is headed our way and is expected to make landfall in the Sunshine State sometime Monday. Lucky for me, it looks to be aiming for a point a bit further north up the east coast. It's only coincidence that we're featuring Floriduh on today's show. First up, Broward County Commissioner Steve Geller, who chairs a new group called the "Real Solutions Caucus" who are pushing for anyone but Sanders or Warren as the Democrats' 2020 nominee. I saw this article in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and it [...]
The Senate voted this morning to proceed to the final vote to confirm (or not) Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Nicole will recap what happened this morning, and we'll listen to Susan Collins announce how she'll vote at the top of the show. Her decision will determine whether the confirmation goes through or fails. Nicole's congressman, Ted Deutch, joins in for the second half of the show. Although he regularly does a good job, Nicole has a few tough questions for him today...
I was released from the hospital on Friday and, once we were able to get my prescriptions filled, I settled back in at home and got down to the process of beginning healing. I said that so easily, didn't I? "Once we got the prescriptions filled...." Now yousettle in and prepare to be pissed! With my folder of discharge instructions, I was given four prescriptions. The main painkiller I'm on is a very powerful narcotic called Dilaudid or generically, Hydromorphone. My crappy United "Healthcare" insurance policy purchased at healthcare.gov requires that I use only Walgreens or Navarro (a chain that [...]
I've spent the last two days digging deep into this story. Yesterday on the Randi Rhodes Show, I interviewed Congressman Raul Grijalva and Congressman Keith Ellison, both of whom expressed concern over the provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act that allow for indefinite detention of anyone suspected of being a terrorist .. or even a terrorist sympathizer. That applies to both citizens and non-citizens. I also spoke with Politico's Josh Gerstein who had posted "On National Defense Authorization Act, Obama Pulls Veto Threat" while the show was in progress. On the House floor Wednesday afternoon, lawmakers disputed the impact [...]
Here I am in Washington DC with a free day! Yes, there was a march from the mall up to the Capitol and a group of people went in to try to see John Boehner (his office called the police and the citizens were told to leave or they'd be arrested). As I was standing at the labor rally calling for good jobs in the shadow of the Capitol, an email arrived from Senator Bernie Sanders' office alerting me that he had introduced the first constitutional amendment in his entire congressional career. It's called The Saving American Democracy Amendment, and [...]
