At least we're talking! The nation is finally talking about two important issues: comprehensive immigration reform and sensible gun safety laws. My show begins at 10am ET, which is when today Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Preventing Gun Violence started this morning. The first to speak was former Congresswoman and gunshot victim Gabrielle Giffords. We carried her brief but very moving statement live. If you weren't watching c-span this morning, you missed a mixed bag of history. First, the Senate showed that 100 mostly white men have no business deciding the fate of millions of young people in this country. Summers’ End and More Wishful Thinking

How appropriate is it that Larry Summers' departure is announced on the first day of fall?
