I love babies. But I don’t get the American obsession with the newest member of the luckiest sperm club in the world. So, the title of this post is the only mention you’ll get here concerning the baby born yesterday in London. I don’t think royalty has any place in our 21st century reality.
Today on the show, I paid tribute to the late Helen Thomas by re-broadcasting the two interviews I was fortunate enough to have conducted with her – both from my days at Air America Radio.
The first one was originally aired on October 7, 2009. It was Helen Thomas and Craig Crawford who together wrote the book Listen Up Mr. President!
The second interview I did with Helen was on January 20, 2010. I had called to ask her to weigh in on President Obama’s first year in office. Little did I know at the time that it would be my last show on Air America, as the network went out of business the following afternoon.

Speaking of TRNS, Bob Ney called in with today’s news update. I’ve grown to know and really like Bob over the past few years. One of the reasons was his very honest telling of his story in the book Sideswiped. He’ll be on Real Time with Bill Maher Friday night. I’ll be watching and cheering him on!
If it’s Tuesday, I welcome GottaLaff to the show… Today she brought us these stories and more…

Teen: “Before #Trayvon, we didn’t have that kind of feeling of injustice.”
And a reminder… I’ll be back tonight for a special webcast of a Q&A session with Senator Nan Rich, the progressive candidate to unseat Rick Scott from the Governor’s office, live from the Boca Raton/Delray Beach Democratic Club meeting at the South County Civic Center (16700 Jog Rd, Delray Beach, FL 33446). If you’re in South Florida, please join us there. If not, come on back for the live stream!
