Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think? It’s Day 50 of the worst man-made environmental disaster in the world which will destroy the Gulf of Mexico for, optimistically, at least a generation. The disaster began on Earth Day and today, Day 50, happens to be World Oceans Day. It’s a truly bad situation and it only seems to be getting worse!
Tonight, I’ll spoke with the wonderful Dr. Riki Ott, a marine biologist who’s been camping out in the Gulf since the disaster began and must be feeling a bit of deja vu, as she was in Alaska when the Exxon Valdez spewed.
We did a small post mortem on my interview yesterday with Rabbi David Nesenoff. It seems that his question for Helen Thomas wasn’t his first brush with video. Check out this “gem” (if you can stand it) unearthed today by Mediaite.
Ugh. And in case you didn’t already see it, the Rabbi released the entire “interview” with Helen Thomas. See it for yourself here:
Ellen Ratner runs the Talk Radio News Service and considers Helen Thomas a friend. We spoke tonight about the manner in which Helen’s colleagues threw her under the proverbial bus.
Danielle Guilday is a fellow South Floridian and blogger, who organized a MoveOn vigil tonight on Dania Beach. I checked in with her to see how her rally was going.
Today is also a big primary day… Howie Klein (aka Down With Tyranny) will join me to talk about the big contests of the day. And we’ll started the show with a visit from Marcy Winograd, who we hope will unseat Blue Dog Jane Harman (Frau Blucher) today!
