On tonight’s show, we covered both of these problems that are in need of major fixing.

We started the show with Brad Friedman who’s done yeoman’s work on voting issues for years, and yesterday had his own issues trying to vote in LA. It’s all documented at BradBlog.com, but we talked about that as well as the voting problems in Arkansas.

Jack Rice called in with an update from the Talk Radio News Service, and we wound up talking about those same voting issues and more from yesterday’s elections, the disaster in the Gulf, and the sanctions against Iran.

I spoke with Dr. Ian MacDonald, professor of Biological Oceanography at Florida State University who gave us a whole lot of bad news and one tiny bit of something encouraging (it looks like the oil spewing is not heading into the loop current… for now anyway.)

And we finished up with a blogger who goes by the name of Shoq.  I’ve seen him on twitter for the past week or so, tweeting with others about a “corral”.  It turns out that he’s an industrial designer, and has been working with Justin Grindal, a certified drilling engineer who was involved with the “Top Kill” procedure.

They drew up the plans for an idea that seems so simple and could actually work to corral the oil that’s spewing from the well, and have submitted it through the proper channels.  The question is whether or not all the ideas being submitted by those among us smart enough to come up with ideas that could actually work is actually being seen by someone who could separate the good from the bad ideas and get them implemented!

That’s where we come in… get involved and try to spread the word. This could actually work.
