“Whoever thought that conservatives were really utopians?” #GOPdelusion

Image via Brainpickings.org Who remembers the 2012 tea party debate at which Ron Paul was asked by Wolf Blitzer: “Congressman, are you saying that society should just let [an uninsured 30-year-old man in coma] die?” (some audience members shouted “Yeah!”). Paul's reply?  “We’ve given up on this whole concept that we might take care of ourselves or assume responsibility for ourselves. Our neighbors, our friends, our churches would do it." Delusional much? I can't even get my neighbor to stop her dog from peeing on my grass, let alone convince her to give me a helping hand should I ever fall [...]

Welcome To A Brand New Year

This morning we began yet another new year of shows in which we examine what's happening and try to figure it all out. Today, I was joined by Howie Klein of Down With Tyranny and the Blue America PAC.  We talked about his trip to the Yucutan and his visits with the Mayan people who told him that it's only the calendar that ends in December, not the world! We also discussed the DCCC, the NDAA  (and my questions to Debbie Wasserman Schultz about it on the Randi Rhodes Show on Friday), and the upcoming elections and the need to [...]

One More Show and Final Thoughts for 2011

Today is December 30... and this afternoon, I'll guest host the Randi Rhodes Show one more time to close out the year. We'll finish our listen back to some of the highlights (and low points) of the year, ask for your New Years' Resolutions and talk with a few guests too... Comedian Ralphie May is headlining the West Palm Beach Improv this week, so he'll join me in the studio. We'll talk with South Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who also doubles as chair of the DNC. And we'll laugh with comedian Hal Sparks too... It's your last chance of [...]

2012 – Here We Come!

We're less than 18 months away from election day 2012, and one thing is certain... the Republicans don't have a candidate. Newt imploded immediately after announcing.  We'll just have to hope he stays in the race for comic relief. The teabaggers seem to like Herman Cain.  Yes, the same people who criticized candidate and even President Obama for his "lack of experience" wants to run the former head of a pizza company?  Put to the very basic test of appearing on Fox News Sunday yesterday, Cain pulled a Palin when softballer Chris Wallace asked him his thoughts on the Palestinians' [...]
