After the phony outrage from the American right wing nuts, about the deal to get Brittney Griner home, I got to thinking about other political prisoners. The longest-serving one is Leonard Peltier, a Native American activist who’s been held since 1975! He just turned 78, is in failing health, and the government has resisted calls for his release for decades.

Today, I’ll share the latest on the efforts to free Peltier, including a letter from seven US Senators sent to President Biden just two weeks ago, urging clemency.

And we’ll go back to my show when it was on Air America Radio… the date was July 31, 2009, when I spoke with Peltier’s attorney, singer-songwriter-activist Bruce Cockburn and activist Harvey Wasserman. Find out lots of info about Leonard Peltier and his case at whoisleonardpeltier.info and, of course, by listening to today’s show.

And if you want to know more, I recommend watching the film Incident At Ogalala.

All the info is at that link, and it’s available to stream all over.
