This was a surreal week. It was the week in which Glenn Beck admitted that we were right!
This was the week that saw Fox’s Shepard Smith speak the truth about Iraq instead of simply repeating the neocons talking points.
It was the week in which right wing shill and apologist Mark Halperin called out Paul Bremmer for being the war monger that he is.
It was the week that saw Faux News Channel’s Megyn Kelly emerge as the one who took on Dick Cheney!
Speaking of Dick and his evil spawn, Tina Dupuy wrote a great column explaining the big favor these two idiots are doing for the rest of us in being so public about their idiocy in a piece called “Bring us More Dick Cheney and Liz” and joined me on the show this morning to discuss it.
Are we, perhaps, emerging from Opposite World? I guess not, if Dick Cheney, Paul Bremmer, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleeza Rice, W and the other architects of our decade plus of war are still walking free and are given air time to spread their lies.
Yesterday was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day for three governors – two Republican/one Democrat, two sitting/one former – all of whom have presidential aspirations that none of them will realize. Rachel Maddow did a great job of succinctly wrapping it all up in one neat little package for Scott Walker, Chris Christie, and Brian Schweitzer.
To wrap up each week, I conclude each Friday show with a trip into the past, digging into my old radio archives for a musical moment. Today, we went back to May 25, 1999 to the now-defunct Channel 103.1 in Los Angeles, when Randy Newman joined us in “Studio C” for an interview and performance.
A few notes… If you’re a regular listener of this program and you are a small business owner, pay attention. I’m hoping to put together a page of blue-friendly businesses in an affiliate-type program. We’ll promote your business in return for a commission on any sales that come through the site. If you’re interested in discussing the possibilities, send me a note, and we’ll talk!!
Also … I ordered some new show swag! So, to help us raise funds necessary to survive, I have a new offer. Make a donation of $10 or more to Radio or Not any time in the next week, and I’ll send you one of our handy dandy cell phone pocket wallets like the one pictured below. Note, the real ones look better and, sorry, phone not included!
And with that, we put another week into the archives… I’ll be back Monday to kick off another action-packed week, radio or not!
