I was planning on covering the impeachment trial today, as I’ve been doing since it began. Instead, my health insurance company made me sick. Physically and emotionally sick. After spending most of the day calling various doctors and offices at the insurance company, I again found myself in healthcare hell… aka America.

To make a long story short, it was a day of anger and tears and then it was after 1pm with my show starting at 3. I knew there was no way I’d get my shit together and be able to digest all that had happened since I got sidetracked early this morning, so I came up with an alternative plan.

I’ve been sitting on a handful of interviews I did over the holidays with some great progressive candidates for Congress. So I shared two of them today: Marie Newman of Illinois, and Mike Siegel of Texas.

We ended the show with a brief return to the impeachment trial, for the last few minutes of Adam Schiff’s closing argument from last night… certainly worthy of your listening time.

And instead of subjecting you to my voice, raw and sniffly from crying all day, I gave you what we’re frequently confronted with more and more these days, a cold, mechanical, computer-generated voice devoid of any emotion or feeling. Future, here we come…
