I'm heading back to Washington DC tonight - along with thousands of 99ers! From the official website: WHAT Thousands will converge on the nation’s capital to show Congress what democracy looks like, shine a light on corporate greed and the human suffering it has caused, and demand justice for the 99%. For four days we’ll hold spirited but peaceful actions, speak-outs, and protests—from the halls of the Capitol to the offices on K Street—as well as spend time together learning and sharing stories, ideas, and inspiration. A few highlights: Monday, December 5 – Set up the People’s Camp. After [...]
Occupy LA evicted by LAPD - 11/30/11 Photo: newsone.com In Los Angeles, the tensions began rising at around 8:30 PM, as word spread throughout the encampment that a raid was imminent. Luckily, some intrepid tweeters and bloggers were on the job... Brad Friedman was tweeting and updating BradBlog.com throughout the night - so much so that he was still awake on the west coast when I awoke on the east coast. Brad's updates on his blog ended at 3:30 am PDT (6:30 EDT!) with this entry: 3:31am PT: Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck give a verybrief statement to media. [...]

The first hour included a visit from investigative journalist Greg Palast, giving us the juicy details behind his new book Vultures' Picnic: In Pursuit of Petroleum Pigs, Power Pirates, and High-Finance Carnivores. I finally got the time to start reading it just a couple of days ago, and it reads like a spy novel... but it's all true. I'll let you know when I'm done, but is definitely worth the read, whether the printed version or the Kindle edition with audio & video. By the way, if you read the printed version and want to see [...]
Koch-Cain's 4th accuser came forward to tell of his advances. Sharon Bialek (oddly resembling Stifler's mom) spoke quite eloquently, probably putting the next to last nail in Herb's political coffin.
Actually, I was planning to use that headline to wrap up my broadcast week... but I guess it also applies to the latest dictator to die. I'm not sure at whose hands he died, but Gadaffy (or however it is spelled) is dead. It's quite interesting that there's video of the fallen madman after he was captured, bloodied but still obviously very much alive. Will we ever know exactly what happened? Probably not. Should we care? Not really. After all... we've got troubles right here in River City my friend. ... with a capital T that rhymes with [...]
