bikini itsy bitsy bikini graph job creation

Hey kids, guess what time it is! It’s job creation time! Which means it’s time to bring back that sexy economic data source, the Bikini Graph! In this episode, we learn that the unemployment rate remains at 5.8%, the lowest it’s been in over six years.  That sound you hear is the GOP demanding President Obama’s impeachment for allowing this to happen on his watch. Jobsghazi!!!!

As always, red columns point to monthly job totals under the Bush administration, while blue columns point to job totals under the Obama administration:

Via Steve Benen at The Maddow Blog, here’s more on the new report from Bureau of Labor Statistics, including how U.S. job growth soared, topping 300,000. The private sector added 314,000, and the public sector added 7,000. “Where are the jobs?” the GOP asks. Why, right here, you crankpots. Or is that “crackpots”? I retort, you deride:

All told, this is one of the best jobs report Americans have seen in many years. …

[T]his new data points to genuine, robust job growth.

Oh sure, that’s easy for Benen to say. But what about all those tax increases and the way Obamacare has destroyed jobs and the entire country? Huh? What about that, suckah?

It remains very difficult for President Obama’s critics to explain these numbers: the hiring boom is underway after tax increases and full implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Oh.

Tee and hee.

In the past year, we’ve added over 2.73 million jobs overall and 2.66 million in the private sector.

What’s more, November was the 50th consecutive month of positive job growth – the best stretch since 1939 – and the 56th consecutive month in which we’ve seen private-sector job growth – the longest on record.
At this point, with the calendar year nearly over, 2014 will easily be the best year for U.S. job creation since 1999.
