Obviously, there are more important things going on in the world today, but this one jumped out at me like a maniacal asshole on a Fake News channel claiming the sky is falling. (Oh right, that’s what it is…)
As she does every Tuesday morning, Gotta Laff of The Political Carnival joins me to talk about some of the stories we might have otherwise missed in the week gone by. So, this morning, we were listening to Glenn Beck’s inane ranting about Egypt, and his sexist dissing of Mike Brzezinksi. (I’ve been know to diss Mika too, but it’s the way he did it that was infuriating.)
Anyway, while we were listening, I heard what certainly sounded like Glenn Beck saying “Fuck you Mika” while the tape was playing. I can only guess he thought his mic was off. Now I can’t say for certain it was Beck, as the camera was not on him at that moment. It could have been one of his studio cronies. But it did get me to ponder the magnificence of the word fuck…
See/hear it for yourself in this video. It comes in at about the 4:11 mark:
Of course we talked about some other things too, including some of these stories.

I got to Laffy a few minutes late this morning because President Obama held a press conference, ostensibly to defend his budget. It was somewhat cathartic to listen and publicly “talk back” to him. And judging from the crew in the chat room, you agreed with what I said. (You’ll have to listen to the podcast to get the full effect!)
In the first hour, I spoke with Jason Tabrys, who’s organizing tonight’s 99erAID chat on twitter. Beginning at 8pm ET, use the hashtage #99erAID and join in the conversation. I believe Jason also started a new topic at HelpThe99ers.com here.
And I picked the brain of WaPo’s Aaron Blake about the budget too.

Dana Milbank article that made me lose respect for him below. He called liberals ‘wingnuts’ in the same way liberals/progressives call conservatives ‘wingnuts’ or ‘right wing nut jobs’ today. But liberals had more substance then and corporatizing media wouldn’t recognize it.

The ombudsman of WaPo, Michael Getler, at the time, who later became NPR ombudsman, wrote about the complaints Milbank’s patronizing tone generated. NPR hired Getler because of complaints orchestrated by pro-Israel occupation media intimidation groups like camera.org. Pro-Israel occupation media intimidation groups like camera.org, honestreporting.com and eyeonthepost.org also were organizing complaint letters to Post that Getler was too intimidated to mention in the way he mentioned FAIR complaint organizing about Milbank article.

Laura Flanders interviewed, on grittv.com or .org, Alexander Zaitchik who wrote unauthorized biography of Glenn Dreck called “Common Nonsense.” A Dana Milbank biography of Dreck took most of press’ attention because of Milbank status as WaPo columnist. I have had little respect for Dana Milbank since 2005 when he wrote a patronizing column about a basement room non-hearing hearing on the Downing Street Memo showing Bush planned on invading Iraq in July 2002. The basement space was the only room the majority Repubs would allow minority Dems to use and wouldn’t allow use of term ‘hearing’ b/c only majority can call a hearing,
