Bernie barnstormed the state of Florida this week, hosting four major rallies and participating in a debate before heading up to North Carolina for another rally this morning. I don’t know how he keeps this schedule going. I’m exhausted! Thankfully, he’s still going strong. Slow and steady wins the race…
We actually had two debates in Miami this week. I attended the Democratic Debate from Miami-Dade College on Wednesday night, and watched the Republicans tangle from University of Miami on TV last night. All I could think was that it was a good thing I wasn’t at the GOP debate as I would have fallen asleep!
The Republicans tried to have a debate on the issues minus the ugly attacks, but it fell flat. And as a Floridian who has suffered with Marco Rubio as a senator for the past 6 years, it was a joy to watch him flounder in recent days.
Julianna Forlano joined me to help recap the debate and, again, marvel at our surreal election season.
After hearing Marco Rubio declare that climate change is just nature running its course, I decided to invite Climate Hawks Vote co-founder RL Miller back to the show to talk about the results of their endorsement poll- Bernie Sanders garnered 92.2% of the vote, to 7.2% for Hillary Clinton.
And we ushered in the weekend with a Flashback Friday segment featuring the guy who gave us “Burning Down The House” – David Byrne (pronounced Bern!). He was the very first in-studio guest at KSCA fm 101.9 in Los Angeles after the radio station launched in July of 1994.
