There are some people who just see conspiracy theories everywhere they go.  Alex Jones, for example, finds an alternative for every official piece of information every day. Whether he believes his own bullshit or not is irrelevant; he has lots of followers who do.

The same goes for Glenn Beck  who lives in Glenn Beckistan – an alternate world where he knows everything, despite what is true in our world.

In short, Beck is convinced, despite reports to the contrary, that this Saudi national is an al Qaeda operative who successfully recruited the Tsarnaev brothers to carry out the Boston bombing and now the government is engaged in a massive disinformation campaign in an effort to cover it up:

The part of this alternate universe that’s really sad is populated by (former) friends of the younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, to whom he was known as Jahar.  From his twitter feed, it’s easy to spot some of his close friends.  Although one appears to have  been deleted, two others are in disbelief, and pushing the idea that the government set up their friend.

“Junes” :

And he has joined with another of Tsarnaev’s friends, Troy Crossley

And lots more like that…

But today we also explored a more hopeful alternate universe.  We now have an official Shadow Cabinet as assembled by the Green Party presidential ticket and some advisers (though they caution that this “Green Shadow Cabinet” isn’t affiliated with any political party).    Kevin Zeese, the GSC Attorney General, joined me to talk about how awesome it would be if this were reality (and I agree!).

In hour two, it was our weekly get together with GottaLaff of The Political Carnival, who brought us these stories today:
