We made it through another week, though I hesitate to say “without a mass shooting” as there likely was one, somewhere in this gun-nutty country, at some point this week. There were undoubtedly shooting deaths by “accident” and on purpose. Those are so normal they often go unreported.

There is good news from one courageous state and governor – Connecticut and Dannel Malloy. Malloy announced that Connecticut would be the first state to ban gun sales to anyone whose name appears on the no-fly list or any terror watch list.

“I am taking this commonsense step with this executive order simply because it’s the right thing to do,” Malloy told reporters in Hartford. “If you can’t fly without clearing government watchlists, you shouldn’t be able to buy a gun.”

Although I applaud this move, we should also note that, according to Malloy, this measure “needs federal approval.” If that means congressional approval, I won’t hold my breath!

Today on the show, Julianna Forlano helped get us into weekend mode with some laughs (and baby talk), and the Top 10 Bullshit news stories of the year.

Then it was Flashback Friday time, when we feature a musical blast from my radio past. Since ’tis the season, we did a couple of shows from holiday seasons past.

First up, Peter Himmelman from December 15, 1999 at LA’s Channel 103.1, followed by Melissa Etheridge from December 16, 2003 at Boston’s 92.5 The River.

I’ll be back Monday to kick off another week of radio… or not….
