January 21, 2010 was a bad day for democracy.
First, the Supreme Court delivered its despicable decision in Citizens United v FEC, effectively destroying over a century of campaign finance law in the process.
Then, to add insult to injury, Air America ceased broadcast operations that afternoon without warning. The end, kaput, done, and I’m still owed $4000 in back pay that I’ll never see.
So, it was six years ago today that I moved The Nicole Sandler Show from Air America to Radio or Not, and the rest, as they say, is history.
This morning, I replayed the opening 3 and a half minutes from my show that evening (I was live on Air America from 11pm-1am Eastern weeknights) in which I relayed the events of the day while attempting to keep my shit together.
This morning, Harvey J. Kaye joined me in hour one, and Howie Klein in hour two, both talking about the crazy election season we’re living through.
I’ll be back tomorrow to wrap up the week, radio or not…
