We made it to a Friday, so we reward ourselves with a musical transition into the weekend. More about that in a bit.
But first, Ebola fever!
Jason Leopold just returned from another trip to Guantanamo Bay where the more things change, the more they stay the same. He wrote about it for Vice News.
He also wrote about how law enforcement is supposed to work in Ferguson, MO – and how it doesn’t!
Catch up on all of Jason’s work for Vice here...
Flashback Friday!
We had a 1999 double-header today. First, we went back to April 5, 1999 for a visit with The Jayhawks. Their album Smile was just coming out. Today, they’re celebrating last week’s re-issue of their five major-label albums.
And from December 19, 1999 it was a session with Old 97’s, who are currently touring in support of their new album, Most Messed Up. Sadly, for me, they’re in Florida this week but not coming any further south than Orlando. So I’ll live vicariously through my past!
I’ll be back Monday with Howie Klein and the Steve Israel Hour® and whatever else the weekend brings, Radio or Not!
I find the Jason Leopold interview riveting. I’m starting to wonder if the only hope we have for closing Guantanamo is global warming and rising waters. Kudos for this awesome discussion!
