Dave Matthews

Each week on the show, we deal with a lot of stressful information. So on Friday mornings, I wrap up the week by diving into my music radio archives and pull out an interview and performance to play back and segue into the weekend.

In January 1995, I was working at KSCA fm 101.9/Los Angeles – the last station owned by Gene Autry’s Golden West Broadcasters. We had begun playing the first single, “What Would You Say?” from the band’s major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming long before any other station in SoCal. When they came through town for their first LA shows, they joined me in the studio for their first LA radio interview.

I shared that this morning, and followed it with my second (and only other) interview with Dave. It was at Channel 103. 1, also in Los Angeles, in March of 1999 after Dave Matthews was a super star!

It was a fitting end to a stressful week…

In the first hour, I welcomed back my Republican friend John LeBoutillier and asked him to size up the 2016 GOP presidential wannabes. Hint: he has pretty much the same opinion of them that we have!

I’ll be back Monday to take on a new week, radio or not!
