April Fools Day – the holiday for the gullible.

Sadly, the big news stories today could have all been April Fools pranks, except that they’re not!

From Indiana Governor Mike Pence’s 180º turnaround on the Orwellian-named “Religious Freedom Restoration Act” that has nothing to do with religious freedom and everything to do with discrimination, to Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson’s last-minute refusal to sign similar legislation, the foolish panderers are easy to spot today.

Then there’s the idiotic O’Connor family who owns Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana, and made it quite clear that they intend to use this law to discriminate against any gay people who might want to cater their gay weddings with crappy pizza. Feel free to follow the link to their Yelp page to leave a comment or call them to tell them what you think of their policies. They open at 4PM Indiana time!

Of course, there’s the Boston Marathon bombing trial. This morning, I spoke with Lara Turner, staff writer at WhoWhatWhy who’s been covering the trial from the beginning. See her coverage here.

And Brad Friedman, proprietor of The Brad Blog, joined me to talk about two other absurd (foolish) stories: the continuing saga of philandering and abusive Judge Mark Fuller (who’s enjoying a lifetime appointment to the Federal Bench, and is the guy responsible for imprisoning Don Siegelman), and the ongoing side-show that is James O’Keefe…

And finally, we’re all sending out healing thoughts to Joni Mitchell who is in intensive care in an LA hospital…

See you tomorrow, radio or not!
