“Oh My God” is one of the best all-purpose phrases around. It can be used to convey any number of feelings and emotions, including annoyance, anger, sarcasm, amazement, amusement, awe, elation and on and on.

You can shout it in anger or frustration, or in orgasmic pleasure! I regularly use the phrase in all of those ways and more, and I don’t believe in God.

Yes, I am an atheist. 

I first met American Atheists president David Silverman at Netroots Nation in San Jose in June 2013.  (I know on today’s show he said he wasn’t there, but the digital audio doesn’t lie.) I recorded our first interview there, intending to share it when I got home. But because it was such a lengthy chat, I wound up not airing it until December!
