I was out last week, having eye surgery and trying to catch up on everything I’ve been procrastinating about. Instead of re-running shows from the past few weeks, I like to go back through the archives and pull out shows from years gone by.

So, we marked the 20th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq, the 13th anniversary of the targeting and destruction of ACORN by the sleazy James O’Keefe (who now finds himself unemployed), and remembered a few other important conversations around important moments in history:

In case you missed them when they ran last week…

I’m out this week– but remain on call in the event of breaking news. If a former president is indicted, arrested, perp walked, handcuffed… or any combination of those and other possibilities, I will come on the air live. If not, I’ll still bring you relevant shows this week, drawing from decades of radio work and archived shows.

Today marks 20 years since the US under George W Bush invaded Iraq. Today we mark that occasion by reaching into my radio archives. Today we hear a conversation with then-Congressman Dennis Kucinich and a production piece I put together both from May 20, 2009, and an interview with Peace Mom Cindy Sheehan from May 20, 2015. We end on a peaceful note, with a 1996 performance and interview with musician Keb’ Mo’…

It’s Tuesday, and I don’t think any former president is getting arrested today. So we jump back into the archives to see what happened this week in years gone by. Today we go back to March 23, 2010 – thirteen years ago. ACORN had been targeted by the twerp we’ve come to know and loathe as James O’Keefe. Brad Friedman of BradBlog.com covered the story better than most, so he joined me that night — that day ACORN shut down.

Two years ago to the day, I spoke with Arizona’s then Secretary of State Katie Hobbs. Though should wouldn’t come out and announce she was running for governor then, she is the governor now…. Thank goodness, the Arizonans didn’t elect the fascists!

Three years ago, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell accepted my invitation to come on my show and talk about his assertion that he is a socialist, among other things…

We finish up this week of blasts from the past with a rebroadcast of a segment with the late Joel Silberman. He did a weekly segment with me for a while, one of the best people I know. This was 11-18-16, less than two weeks after Trump won.

Then we end the week with an interview with music legend Boz Scaggs. And yes, he performs a few songs. You’ll want to listen through to the end.
