Many of the delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention voted against the party’s official platform this week because it didn’t not commit to developing and instituting a single-payer Medicare for All health care system. But M4A is supported by 69% of all Americans and 88% of Democrats! We knew this would be a battle with Joe Biden as the nominee, so we’re getting a head start on the fight. I read an article by John Nichols in The Nation on today’s show about this very issue.
Today we welcome Wendell Potter back to the show. Wendell is the health insurance whistleblower who spoke up a decade ago and helped us get the ACA. He just launched a new organization, the Center for Health & Democracy, to push for universal coverage.
