It’s Primary Day in Michigan and Mississippi (Republicans also vote in Hawaii and Idaho today), and Bernie Sanders is finally showing Florida some love!
Florida votes in our presidential primary one week from today, and I’m thrilled that the Sanders train is rolling through Florida starting today. I’ll be at tonight’s rally in Miami and, if my media credentials come through, at the Miami debate tomorrow night. We’re feeling the Bern here in South Florida!
Along with Florida, Illinois, Missouri and North Carolina, Ohio heads to the primary polls next Tuesday too. Ohio combines their state primary with the presidential primary, so Ohians will also choose between the two Democrats running for the nomination for the senate seat currently occupied by Rob Portman.
Ted Strickland is the former one-term governor who lost his bid for re-election, and is best described as a Blue Dog or New Dem. The other is PG Sittenfeld, a veteran of the Cincinnati City council and a progressive who seems to be on the right correct side of every issue of concern. Follow him on Twitter here, and check out his website, for position statements and to learn more about him.
In hour two, it was another gathering of the Gliberal Goddesses™ with @GottaLaff, Amy Simon and me! We talked a lot about the presidential race and lots more, including the fact that today is International Women’s Day. Find out more about that at sheshistory.com (including info about a performance in LA this weekend!).
Tomorrow, Deborah Newell returns for another look inside the Oy FloriDUH files, and I’ll recap tonight’s big Bernie Sanders rally in Miami, radio or not!
