I was almost late for today’s show as my appointment with the retinal specialist took longer than I expected. But now I know that I definitely need surgery on my right eye. I have a condition called vitreomacular traction. Needless to say, this is the last thing I need right now on top of two cracked ribs and the fact that we’ll have to move out of this house in the next 40-60 days. More on all of that in the very near future.

But as I consider my surgical options, health insurance industry whistleblower Wendell Potter returns to the show. We talked about the problems with our system, honing in on Medicare Advantage and the newest scam to get us all into privately run “advantage” programs called direct contracting or “Accountable Care Organizations — ACO Reach”.
