Howie Klein blogs at and runs the Blue America PAC. He’s done a weekly guest segment with me for probably over a decade now. During that time, the role of progressives in the House Democratic caucus has been somewhat of a rollercoaster.

Today, we’ll get the lay of the land from Howie regarding the makeup of the incoming minority party in the 218th Congress…

Will Kevin McCarthy become Speaker? What about his challenger, the MAGAt Andy Biggs? Will a Blue Dog come to Kevin’s rescue? Those question and many more on today’s Nicole Sandler Show.
PLUS… Eight years after I first wrote a post suggesting other nations issue travel advisories for the United States due to our gun violence epidemic, it appears that they’re finally listening…

Also, I played the new video from the Marsh Family.  It’s an original song they’ve written and recorded titled “In the Bleak”. It’ll be officially released tomorrow. All proceeds go to benefit Save the Children, a very worthy cause. Here’s the note they put on the video, with all the info about the song and the charity.

The official video for The Marsh Family – IN THE BLEAK. Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for the premiere! The song is being released tomorrow on Friday 9th December 2022. ORDER HERE: DONATE TO SAVE THE CHILDREN PAGE DIRECT HERE:… If you like the track, then please consider PRE-ORDERING it for DOWNLOADING or STREAMING, and please SHARE it after you watch the video, so that we can get it heard as far as possible, and onto playlists and ITunes. We don’t have a music label or publisher, but we do have an amazing charity partner, so any proceeds from the single in Christmas 2022 will be going to the wonderful international organisation “Save the Children” whose work helps children keep safe, healthy, and learning in the UK and around the world. Today is Christmas Jumper Day in the UK – and we’re linked to that campaign which means that ALL profits from our song and any donations to our JustGiving page here (link above) will be DOUBLED by the UK Government. This means we can all make a real difference, so please spread the word and support us if you can!! If you want to check out what the charity do, details here: – their work is all around the world.
