You know what TFN stands for at this point, right?
It’s The Fucking News. It just doesn’t stop. And it’s the cause of the giant pit in my stomach right now that has had me feeling nauseated and unable to function most of the time these days.

If you’ve been listening to this show for a while, you may remember the effect the 2016 election had on my mind, soul and being. When TFG was declared winner, that sickness permeated every inch of my body and psyche and wreaked havoc on me for four long years. I’m not a medical professional, but my best description of what happened to me was a total breakdown.
Somehow I managed to mostly go through the motions and keep this show going, but it was not easy. And it was not fun.

I’ve struggled with depression since adolescence, but the stress and anxiety that’s ravaged my mind and body thanks to that orange narcissistic fascist is really taking a toll on me.
I’ll do my best to muddle through… but please know that if I’m off the air at all this week, that’s why.

I know it’s not rational. NOTHING about him is rational. This is opposite world on steroids.
I believe we’ll be ok. I believe he will lose and that GOOD will triumph over evil.
Unfortunately, none of those rational beliefs are doing a good job of alleviating what’s happening in my head.
But I’ll keep trying to battle those demons — in real life, in my mind and all over the fucking internet and tv.
I’ll share a few things that should help (and do, albeit temporarily). And we’ll check in with Jonathan Larsen of TheFuckingNews.substack.com as we do each Monday….

And if you’re feeling as I am, please know you’re not alone. But we will survive. And we will win.

As promised, this is the post I shared that David found on Facebook. Good things to keep in mind as we navigate the next few days…

Media Narrative: A swarm of new polls show the race tightening and averages are even showing Trump running ahead in some swing states.
REALITY:
1. The race reached a new stasis after Kamala destroyed Trump in the debate and since then real polling has been astonishingly stable. At that same time, more than half of the polls used in the averages have been low-quality, biased, right-wing polls specifically produced to skew the averages. Remember the 2022 “Red Wave” that never showed up? These are the exact same thing.
2. Since Dobbs overturned Roe pollsters haven’t been able to catch up with the new electorate. Democrats have super-performed expectations every time that abortion has been on the ballot, and abortion has never been more on the ballot than in 2024.
3. The largest voting block in America is the Anti-Trump voting block. When you see early voting results, for example, you see the numbers of registered Dem, Republican, and Independent ballots returned. No Democratic presidential campaign in our lifetimes has ever done so much to court the Republican vote. You aren’t seeing the actual vote, and this is going to be a huge factor this time around. We know that nearly all Democrats will vote for Harris, but we don’t know how many Republicans are going to vote against Trump.
4. Most pollsters put the heaviest weight on repeat voters, they call them likely voters. However, since the Taylor Swift endorsement, the Harris campaign has been flooded with first-time voters, and the campaign has registered hundreds of thousands of them in swing states.
5. In the 90 days since Kamala became the Dem candidate and then Nominee, Democrats up and down the ballot have been flooded with money and volunteers. Coordinated campaigns in the states have had unprecedented resources and volunteers for ground operations, while Republicans have been bled dry by Trump’s grifts and RNC corruption. Their state campaigns are sucking wind.
6. Kamala is more popular than any other presidential candidate in modern political history. She is the ONLY candidate with more approval than disapproval. Walz is more popular than Trump and Vance is the most hated VP candidate ever. What does that mean? Later deciders are going to look at Trump and Harris and every indication is that they will break for Harris. Why wouldn’t they? Trump has done absolutely nothing to expand beyond his base, while Kamala is doing everything to attract a vast coalition.
