Well… Although it would be nice to be heard the old-fashioned way, via over-the-air, terrestrial radio, two days in to the new Radio or Not webcast, we’re doing OK.

It’s busy behind the scenes, as I’m working feverishly to figure out the audio streaming solution, and working with the amazing Heather Chase on the new website.  It will all come together and I’ll get used to hitting the air at 6pm ET instead of 11, and will get back to blogging on a daily basis!

In the meantime, we had another great show today. We kicked it off with a conversation with Rob Lamarche, director of the Florida office of the Alliance for Children, an adoption agency who specializes in international adoption, about the plight of Haiti’s orphans. He’ll be sending me information about reputable groups who are working directly with Haitian adoptions, for those who are interested in looking in to giving some of the kids orphaned by the earthquake a home.

I interviewed Adam Cohen, author of Nothing to Fear: FDR’s Inner Circle and the Hundred Days that Created Modern America, and lamented the fact that Obama could have given us a New Deal and helped the country as FDR did, but hasn’t and doesn’t seem to have the guts or inclination to do so.

My former Air America colleague Jack Rice checked in to talk about the sad turn of events… I’m not talking about the shuttering of Air America, I’m talking about what’s happened to our country in the past week.  From the election of Scott Brown to the US Senate in Massachussetts and the resulting seeming death of any health care reform, to the Supreme Court ruling that corporations are persons when it comes to free speech rights and campaign contributions, to President Obama announcing a domestic spending freeze– a terrible idea proposed by John McCain during the campaign!

And DownWithTyranny‘s Howie Klein joined in for the rest of the show, picking up the conversation where I left off with Jack.

I’ll be back tomorrow night with a busy show! I’ll be joined by Sarah Saylor of EarthJustice, John Ondrasik (the guy behind the band Five for Fighting) who’ll tell us about his “For the Troops III” cd, and my favorite activist David Swanson.

That’s the pre-game show. Then we’ll stick around (or take a short break and come back) for the State of the Union address. We’ll live post comments on our all new forum!
