That’s what you do after a big victory, right?  I still remember one year when I took my daughter to Disney World here in Florida.  She couldn’t have been older than six.  On our way to park, we learned that day was “Gay Day” – an annual event.  My first thought was “cool, this could be a learning experience”.  Except that my daughter was not at all fazed by the site of two men or two women holding hands. She had never been taught that there was anything wrong with that!

This weekend, we’re headed back to Disney World.  Not to celebrate the death of DOMA, but because I’m taking Alison to camp (yeah, I know, we just did that  but this is a different camp), and a friend got me a pair of tickets to the park.  It just seemed an apt metaphor…

On the show today, we discussed the recent SCOTUS decisions from the gutting of the voting rights act to DOMA’s defeat and a few others with David Gans, director of the Human Rights, Civil Rights, and Citizenship Program at the Constitutional Accountability Center.

And Brad Friedman woke up early just to give me shit about taking pictures of his bathroom

and for stealing his silverware (well, ours is all disappearing!).

Seriously, we talked about voting rights, the role of  journalists and a lot more…

And for your weekend viewing pleasure, enjoy Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, the first female combat veteran in the House, who lost both her legs in a helicopter crash, taking down someone who scams the US for disability…
