Sometimes things aren’t as they appear. Today’s show contains proof of that…
But I start with the hypocrisy from the right. I’ve long had a theory about the GOP living in some sort of Opposite World or, if you will, their own private Idaho. The people who preach about shrinking government until its so small it cannot do anything yet want to legislate what you can and can’t do with your body, and want to ignore the constitution’s directive of separation of church and state.
In fact, a prime example comes courtesy of Sen. Rand Paul – a supposed supporter of our civil rights who voted against the extension of the Patriot Act and, for that, I applaud him. But he also thinks that anyone who even attends a political speech by someone who suggests an overthrow of the government should be imprisoned or deported!
I guess that means that Allen West should be imprisoned or deported for attending a rally with crazy talk show host Joyce Kaufman who screeched “If ballots don’t work, bullets will” and more…
Feel free to fast forward to the pertinent parts at beginning at about 5:00 in.
Yesterday I told you about Adam Kokesh who, along with four others, was arrested for dancing at the Jefferson Memorial. Today, he’ll join me on the show to talk about the insanity of his arrest and the dance party at TJ’s planned for this Saturday!
I’ll also speak with prolific author Frank Schaeffer, the son of Frank Schaeffer – widely regarded as the “pope” of the religious right movement, about his new book Sex, Mom, & God: How the Bible’s Strange Take on Sex Led to Crazy Politics — and How I Learned to Love Women (and Jesus) Anyway.
***Update*** The show just ended, and my conversation with Adam Kokesh turned out to be intellectually challenged. I still support his right to dance at the Jefferson Memorial without being arrested and attacked by police. But his political views are idiotic.
In response to Mr. Kokesh, he should go live here:
