I could blame the tardiness of this post on the holidays… This year, Christmas, Channukah, Kwanzaa and Festivus all fell at virtually the same time, so it was a big deal… for some. Frankly, I like this time of the year because it’s the end of the year and the beginning of a new one.

My biggest grievance from 2016 is……(drumroll)…. everything. This was an awful year. From lung cancer to Donald Trump — that about says it all!

Another grievance is my phone system. I’ll have to figure that one out…

In the meantime, this was a very fun show as I welcomed an old colleague to the program. Bernadette Duncan Harrison spent 26 years as a radio producer, working with some of the greats like Charles Osgood, Tom Snyder, Sally Jesse Raphael, and some of the jerks — Lou Dobbs, that means you. She wrote a wonderful book about it all, Yappy Days: Behind the Scenes with Newsers, Boozers, Schmoozers and Losers, with stories about them all and more.

We talked about some of those, and shared some from when we worked together at WMCA in NY. I was there from 1981-85 and produced The Bob Grant Show, Barry Gray and others — like a monthly statewide Ask the Governor show with Mario Cuomo.

Ahh, the good old days…
