And tragedies seem to make them multiply.
I haven’t enjoyed interacting with people for the past few days. Whether in person or on-line, it seems like what should make us kinder to one another has brought out the vicious and the nasty. I admit to having a shorter fuse and less patience than usual – and that’s not setting the bar very high. It’s just that as much as I detest the stupidity I’ve seen rearing its ugly face lately, I truly despise the hateful idiocy that has emerged from the gun powder residue.
I’ve had a few exchanged on twitter recently that I should have just walked away from. The block button and I have gotten very familiar, but I should have pushed it before engaging with the morons…
For example, when the numb-nut who goes by the twitter handle @D_Lee73 responded to my tweet of “Why does the right feel their rights r being “stripped” by banning assault weapons, yet ppl killed by them don’t have right to life?” with the imbecilic “And Freedom of religion was only for Christianity. At least that’s where true freedom lies :-)”
It went downhill from there. I know. I should have just hit block and backed away from the computer. But my curiosity into the mind of the delusional made me probe, unsuccessfully…
I will do my best to stop the madness and not engage the trolls. There were many, many more of those types of exchanges yesterday. I will no longer participate. But to be honest, I’m not enjoying life or my fellow earthly inhabitants right now…
