We’ve seen a newly revitalized President Obama over the past few days!  He delivered a feisty State of the Union address on Wednesday night, got in front of a receptive crowd in Tampa Thursday, took on the Republicans Friday, and presented his budget today. That’s enough to make anyone exhausted.

But President Obama’s approval ratings have been on an upward climb since the blitz began.

Will his stellar performance at the Republican retreat bear any fruit? Probably not, though I think it put him back in control of the debate and stopped the runaway train that threatened to completely derail his presidency.

Talk Radio One

We’ll listen to some of the exchanges tonight when we hit the ‘net at 6pm EST/3pm PST. Beginning today, in addition to the video stream, we’ll be webcasting with an audio stream as well, thank to Marc Germain and his crew at TalkRadioOne.  Some of our listeners from the Los Angeles area are probably familiar with Marc Germain… perhaps from the years he spent as Mr. KFI then as Mr. KABC (at each respective radio station), and then,  just Mr. K before relenting and using his given name at KTLK.  Marc will join me near the top of the show to tell us about TalkRadioOne and what you might pick up on the stream during the hours when I’m not on the air.

We’ll also hear from Brad Friedman of BradBlog tonight, who’s been doing a great job covering the ongoing soap opera that has come to be known, in some circles, as Watergate 2010.  Except in this case, it’s a two-bit would-be pimp (James O’Keefe) who broke into the offices of a ConservaDem Senator from Louisiana (Mary Landreau) under the alleged direction of a Drudge Wannabe (Andrew Breitbart)… but it might be bigger than that!

And, finally, and interview I’ve been looking forward to for a long time! John Perkins gained great prominence with the publication of his book Confessions of an Economic Hitman.  The follow-up, Hoodwinked: An Economic Hit Man Reveals Why the World Financial Markets IMPLODED — and What We Need to Do to Remake Them, is now out, and we’ll discuss it tonight.

John Perkins is currently on a book tour. If you’re here in Miami, you can see him this Thursday night, 8pm, at Books & Books in Coral Gables. Otherwise, check the link to see when he’ll be in your area.

And once you’re done listening to our interview, you’ll likely want to visit www.dreamchange.org to help make the world a better place. It might not be a whole new world yet, but we can sure try to steer it in that direction!
