What a way to return, huh?  I was preparing to ease back into work slowly.  But shortly after I awakened yesterday morning, I got a call from Randi Rhodes’ executive producer John Manzo telling me that Randi was sick, and asking if I could fill in for her.  Of course I said yes.  No way I’d turn down that opportunity…

So, I sprung into action, and started reading and booking guests for the show.

I had already planned to return to do my show last night…so I figured I’d do another marathon broadcasting day.  Unfortunately, it took its toll on me last night… thus the reason I didn’t get this blog or the podcast done until this morning.

Ease back in to work… yeah, right!

Today’s going to be another busy day, as I have tons to do to prepare to leave tomorrow for Las Vegas!

So, let me tell you what we did and talked about on Randi’s show first…

In the first hour, I was joined by Truthout‘s Jason Leopold, who’s done amazing work on the BP disaster in the Gulf, and gave us the latest on the seepage from the spewage…

In hour two, we continued talking about that disaster, then moved over to the new financial regulation bill (which has a combination of good and not so good)… FireDogLake’s News man David Dayen gave us all the details on what’s in it.

And in hour three, I was joined by Patrick of the infamous Palingates blog, whose been diligent about covering our nation’s biggest embarrassment since George W. Bush.  One of the things I find fascinating about this blog is the fact that it’s run by Europeans!  Patrick is German… It’s interesting to hear what the rest of the world thinks about this moron who coins new words like “refudiate” and then likens herself to Shakespeare!  Oy…

As for my show… check out the next post…
