hello autumn

Today is the first day of fall, the most wonderful season of the year. But since it’s the year before a presidential election, crazy season is just getting underway. Strap in, because this ride is only going to get wilder.

Today, the Pope has taken over the nation, and America’s Preacher/Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee somehow though it was either Christlike or presidential, or some strange combination of the two, to tweet rude things to the Pope about the president! Here are a couple of examples:

There were plenty more, but I’d need a shower if I kept reading his Twitter feed now. Ack!

Hillary Clinton actually did a 180 from her statement of a few weeks ago in which she insisted she wouldn’t weigh in on the Keystone XL pipeline until after the administration made its decision or she became president. Well, yesterday, she answered that very question, coming out in opposition to the project. Better late than never, I suppose. But it doesn’t make me trust her any more. It’s just another example of her following the political winds than adhering to her own (self-imposed) directives.

That “Hillary paradox” is the topic of the forthcoming book from Joanne Cronrath Bamberger , Love Her, Love Her Not: The Hillary Paradox, now available for pre-order from Amazon. But we talked about a whole lot more too…

In the first hour, my old friend Robert Platshorn joined me from The Silver Tour to talk about the fight to end cannabis prohibition across the nation and, especially, here in Florida. He told us about the two campaigns gearing up for the 2016 election, Florida Can and Regulate Florida

And we discussed the new Cannabis Facts series that The Silver Tour is running on radio stations across the state. Click here to listen to them and share liberally!

***Update*** Thanks to an email from listener Laury reminding me, here is today’s pre-show music playlist. The theme was The First Day of Fall

Tomorrow, Harvey J. Kaye and Howie Klein join in the conversation… radio or not!
