“It’s not Republican to support prohibition,” says Houston granny and recently widowed marijuana activist Ann Lee. Who happens to be 85 and vote Republican.
As this article and videoat her local station of KHOU illustrates, an 86 year old brave dame in Texas [said she was brave] is going public with her belief that pot is the least of the countries worries … never mind hers, or ostensibly, yours.
“It’s not the Weed of The Devil”, declared Houston grandmother and activist Ann Lee to local news syndicate KHOU.
“I don’t know whether it’s my age, the white hair, what is it, but it does seem to strike a chord. I’ve been an activist for many years, but I’ve never had the response that I’m now getting” Lee said, adding that she is wholeheartedly behind marijuana legalization.
“It’s just me, I believe in this.”
Legalization activists have called her the perfect weapon as she plans to head off to Washington, having turned Austin on already this year.
“The government has no business telling you you cannot.”
Hell, Yeah!
Big Pharma must be lined up for a chance to use their sling shots and deep pockets on Granny Annie, she is not toeing the Republican line here. In fact she just rubbed it into the dirt and daintily stepped over it on her way to some truth telling to Bodies o’ Power.
Oh yes, you’ll see her again. Not only ‘watch this space’ if you can, but it has to be a certainty that if an 85 year-old weed-approving GOP Granny can’t get airtime these days, we are in fact all living a bad dream than only Denzel Washington and some millennial gamers could get us out of. And she founded Republicans Against Marijuana Prohibition.
