We are a divided nation with a divided government. And within our two major parties, even more division.

The one thing we are united on is our discontent.

Today, I spoke with both Congressman Alan Grayson and Blue America’s Howie Klein about the great divide and what Democrats need to do to get back on track.

Although Congressman Grayson sounded as if he’d be open to moving into a leadership position, Howie sounded a bit of caution, telling us that – as usual – money is key and, in this case, Wall Street money wants Congressman Jim Himes of CT to replace Steve Israel as chair of the DCCC. It helps that he takes more money from Wall Street than anyone else in Congress, so they’ve already apparently got him in their back pocket.

The president is off to Asia where he’s trying to get the TPP negotiations completed so he can bring it back home, where he wants Fast Track Trade authority to just ram it through Congress. Progressives have been cautioning against Fast Track and are now joined by the Tea Party contingent (who are probably only against it because Obama wants it).

I spoke at length with Congressman Grayson about the myriad of problems that is the Trans Pacific Partnership, and mentioned the email I got this morning about a Tea Party conference call/webinar to mobilize against Fast Track!

The American people voted for Republicans who promised to block President Obama arrogant abuse of power.

Now, unbelievably, the new leadership is talking about giving the President even more power to bypass Congress and enact his open borders agenda.

That’s right, the top item on the new leaders’  “We Can All Get Along” agenda is giving Obama sweeping new power called “Trade Promotion Authority,” otherwise known as Fast Track.

With this power, the President can negotiate with foreign powers in secret and bypass Congressional oversight to enact his agreements.

Leading conservatives have spoken out against this.

Join us Monday November 10th at 8 pm ET for a special webcast and conference call for ALL bloggers, reporters, radio & TV hosts, researchers and producers.

Ambassador Alan Keyes, Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly, Tea Party Nation President Judson Phillips and other leaders will discuss the conservative opposition to giving Obama even more power through “Fast Track.”

The webinar can be viewed on a computer with good Internet connection, and you can listen to the conference call on your telephone.

But you must register below to get the details and access codes.

You will learn the TOP 5 REASONS why Congress needs to put restrictions on the President’s authority, instead of giving him more by way of Fast Track legislation.

I hope you can join us.

Strange bedfellows, indeed.

We also discussed the new SCOTUS challenge to the Affordable Care Act, the lack of any action by Obama or Eric Holder in holding the banksters accountable for crashing the economy (even though Matt Taibbi has had no problem in exposing the fraud, greed and crimes they’ve committed).

Oh well… Howie Klein will be back next Monday for another edition of… well, we need a new name for the segment formerly knows as The Steve Israel Hour. What’s your suggestions?
