9-10-15 No Nicole Sandler Show again

One of the worst things about running a media empire from my home studio is that I don't have an IT staff.Last year, a generous listener sent me a donation to be used for a new machine from which to run my show. As he works with computers, he suggested I check out the Alienware line. They're gaming computers, and are able to handle a lot of stuff going on at the same time.Unfortunately, this computer has never worked right. Aside from the usual glitches (programs hanging up on start and non-responsiveness), my biggest problems were the audio issues.Regular listeners [...]

Weird, Creepy Politics

Three weeks out from election day, Nicole talks about ugly politics. Salon's Thomas Frank guests to discuss his latest interviews with Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. Plus John Brody of Backus Nurses/AFT on Ebola preparedness, Wendy Davis' ad, and Alison Lundergan Grimes' voting record too.

Friday the 13th, Guns and Jackson Browne too

Today is a rare day indeed! Not only is it Friday the 13th, but it's the rare Friday the 13th that falls on a Full Moon! It won't happen again until 2049, so let's enjoy it, or not, while we can. Today, I welcomed lawyer turned comedian and writer, Dean Obeidallah to the show. At The Daily Beast, Dean has been writing about the same things we talk about here on the show. Today, we centered in on two of his recent works,  "It's Time to Think Big or Shut Up on Gun Control" and "Home Grown, Right Wing Terrorism: [...]

Secrets and Lies

Last night, NBC aired Brian Williams' interview with Edward Snowden, recorded last week in Moscow. I think he made a really convincing case for himself, answering a lot of the questions that have been hovering since his first revelations were published last year. Unfortunately, today's show was jam packed, so we didn't have much time to delve into it. We'll do that tomorrow on another special Friday edition of the show. In the meantime, if you haven't seen it yet, take the time to watch, listen and learn. We were busy this morning talking about Sam Seder and a new [...]
