5-23-22 Nicole Sandler Show – Tell Me Everything while Rethinking Trade with John Fugelsang & Lori Wallach

Download here or click below to play, (or watch the video at the bottom of the page!)   We're starting the week off running with two great guests, so don't be late today. We'll begin the week with an old friend of the show, John Fugelsang! He used to come on with me weekly, but then got too busy... We hadn't spoken in a while when I reached out this morning, and he said Yes. So, we have about 7 years to catch up on. Of course, I think I want to talk to him about the perversion of religion [...]

1-20-20 Nicole Sandler Show – 10 Years Ago-CItizens United Arrives, Air America Leaves

Tomorrow marks ten years. Ten years since the Supreme Court doubled down on the idea that corporations are people and money is speech. It’s no wonder that this is where we are today. But that decision from the Court wasn’t the only tragedy that occurred on January 21, 2010. On that afternoon, Air America Radio announced they were filing for bankruptcy, Chapter 7, so no efforts to reorganize and come back. It was over. Done Kaput. On that night, instead of waiting for the ISDN connection to the Air America studios from my home studio in Miami, at 11pm [...]

Keep Pushing Back

Three years ago today, a group of New Yorkers descended on Wall Street's Zuccotti Park to protest the problems caused by and lack of any consequences for those responsible for the financial meltdown of 2008. Obviously, there was much more that the original Occupiers of Wall Street were protesting, but the wealth and justice inequality that is synonymous with Wall Street was the unifying evil that was being fought. Today, though, I was hard pressed to find any remnants of the once-promising protest movement. Even the official Occupy Wall Street website had no new front-page article to commemorate the day. Ironically, [...]

Secrets and Lies

Last night, NBC aired Brian Williams' interview with Edward Snowden, recorded last week in Moscow. I think he made a really convincing case for himself, answering a lot of the questions that have been hovering since his first revelations were published last year. Unfortunately, today's show was jam packed, so we didn't have much time to delve into it. We'll do that tomorrow on another special Friday edition of the show. In the meantime, if you haven't seen it yet, take the time to watch, listen and learn. We were busy this morning talking about Sam Seder and a new [...]

Religion and Politics

The graphic above says it all... Religion is like a penis. It's fine to have one. It's fine to be proud of it. But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around. And PLEASE don't try to shove it down my children's throats. It seems that the people who don't follow that golden rule are also the ones who have absolutely no understanding of what Jesus (who they claim to follow) actually taught. Today, we talked about religious hypocrisy with comedian John Fugelsang, who agreed with me that people like Pat Robertson, Bryan Fischer, Ralph Reed [...]

Ingredients for a Happy Life

On this day before Valentine's Day, I thought I'd pull it together with love songs on the pre-show music (Spotify users can get the extended playlist here), and laughter from comedians Julianna Forlano and John Fugelsang. If you happen to be in Phoenix or Ft. Lauderdale (or Chicago, Madison or Albuquerque), tickets to see John, Stephanie Miller and the Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour makes a great Valentines Day gift. In honor of everyone being able to love whomever they love, a big salute to this Dallas, TX sportscaster - Dale Hansen - for calling out the haters: Happy Valentines Day!

Counting Down Till the End of the Year

It's that time of the year again... Randi Rhodes is enjoying some well-earned end of the year vacation time, and I get to enjoy her vacation by guest hosting her show! Jacob Dean and Skeptical Scott of Filter Free Radio will be guest hosting my show on Monday and Tuesday for the next three weeks.  I'll be here Wednesday and Thursday this week, and Thursday the two weeks after that...  and in for Randi each day between now and January 3 with the exception of Christmas and New Years Days. Today on Randi's show, I'll talk with Congressman Alan [...]

When News and Myths Collide

Although that's how Hollywood depicts Jesus, history tells us he didn't quite look like that.  But don't expect to hear facts from your favorite newsmodel at the Fox "News" Network.  Fox's "Rising Star"™ Megyn Kelly tells us that, in response to a Slate piece entitled "Santa Claus Should Not Be A White Many Anymore": "...for all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white, but this person is just arguing that, that maybe we should also have a black Santa. But you know, Santa is what he is and just so you know, we're just debating this cuz someone [...]
