The House Intelligence Committee today released the long-threatened memo that turned out to be not much of anything. At the top of the show, I spoke with former CIA agent Jack Rice about the dangers of releasing classified information, and the memo. I shared some of Jennifer Rubin's Washington Post column about the memo on the show. You can read the whole thing here. Then we turned to history with Joshua Zeitz, author of the new book, Building the Great Society Inside Lyndon Johnson's White House.
It's a good thing it's Friday, as I don't think we could take another day of this week. Today, the resident tweeted a threat at Comey, that also insinuated that he secretly tapes visitors to the White House! James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 12, 2017 And he threatened to end all White House Press Briefings As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with perfect accuracy!.... — [...]
Five days to go, and this nation has never looked uglier. From the latest revelations about the inmates controlling the asylum at the FBI to voter intimidation and suppression, I'm re-thinking my decision to come back from sick leave before this shit storm subsided. I do remain satisfied that I voted the correct way. Despite being told that I'm trying to scare everyone about Trump as a means to get them to vote for Clinton, I'm just doing what I always do-- calling it the way I see it. The thought of a Trump presidency not only scares the shit out of [...]
The FBI has gone rogue, and the Libertarian VP nominee is telling people to vote for Hillary Clinton and reading from 1984 by way of warning. It's all What's News? today.
What a Friday! I was supposed to talk with Aldo Seoane on the show today. Unfortunately, when I called, we got voicemail. Aldo has been at the Standing Rock Sioux protests of the Dakota Access Pipeline where, on Thursday, all hell broke loose as the National Guard and militarized police showed up to violently remove the protesters from the land. Aldo sent this message on Friday night: Super sorry had law enforcement come in and had to focus on deescalation Obviously, some things are more important. We'll try to touch base with Aldo on Tuesday's show to get an update on what's [...]
Bridget didn't have him at hello. Ironically, she and her old-school evidence may finally usher the big boy to a long goodbye. Friday was such a busy day, what with debate and Al Smith Dinner 'moo doo' to shovel, but good old disappearing-act Chris Christie took a knee from famed lane changing engineer from Jersey, Bridget Anne Kelly, in her juicy testimony. More to come from testimony on Monday. Surely good Catholic boys and girls aren't stretching the truth around the block to meet itself again at the Confessional? Someone is sinning daily here, because Ms. Kelly [...]
