Ten years ago today, I arrived at the orphanage in Karakastek, Kazakhstan for the last time. I had been there a number of times in the days before, meeting and bonding with the child who would become my daughter. On this day, she'd leave with me, to be with me forever. Ten years ago yesterday, I stood before a judge in Kazakhstan who granted my petition for adoption. We call this our "forever day."
