Friday's show is now posted. Sorry for the delay. I'm juggling a lot of balls these days. Julianna Forlano joined in during the first hour, helping me recap the Democratic National Convention. Although the speech by Khizr Khan, the father of a Muslim soldier killed while fighting for the US, was certainly the most amazing moment of the convention... I still marvel at the brilliance of Rev. Dr. William Barber. I hope every hypocritical Republican who claims to have the moral high ground got to hear him. I spoke with a couple of Bernie delegates, including my attorney Bruce [...]
Yesterday, I talked about working out the conflicts of our inner voices, though some people thought I "went too far." Others thanked me for being "spot on." All I know is all I know. Today, it's that the world continues down its pathway of madness. People hear what they want to hear instead of actually listening to what's being said. We talk past one another instead of with each other. Until we learn to shut up and listen, we're bound to continue making the same mistakes. Today, I talked a bit about that disconnect. I praised the celebration of [...]
I know I'm not alone this week. I'm conflicted. There's as much conflict going on in my mind as there is in the Wells Fargo Arena, the ironic name of the arena where the Democrats are nominating Hillary Clinton as their nominee to run against the Republican Donald Trump. I feel like I'm writing this in the middle of a bad dystopian novel in which the two most hated people in the nation are vying for the presidency. Oh, wait. Anyway, today, I let the conflict play out. I offended some people, and probably confused many more. Welcome to [...]
I wasn't here yesterday. I ran a Best Of show as I had a biopsy scheduled to find out what's going on with this mass on my lung. I wasn't expecting to hear anything until Monday, but the doctor called shortly after I arrived at the studio today to tell me he got the preliminary results. Cancer. I have fucking lung cancer. I'll get more details next week after the PET scan tomorrow, and an appointment with the oncologist Monday afternoon, and the surgeon on Thursday. The next few weeks will likely be a bit of a whirlwind, so I [...]
As the GOP circus gets underway in Cleveland and the world at large continues its descent into insanity, I've been dealing with my own personal hell. After a heart attack scare last Thursday, I've been on a roller coaster ride - and I HATE roller coasters. The heart scare, which turned out not to be a heart attack at all, was perhaps a blessing in disguise. The x-ray that was to see if my heart was swollen or enlarged instead showed a mass on my left lung. The pulmonologist wanted a PET-CT scan done, but United Healthcare had other ideas. [...]
Forget presumptive, Hillary Clinton is the "Presumptuous nominee". Today, Nicole Sandler discusses this break from reality and the rest of the day's news and information with her regular Thursday guests Driftglass and Howie Klein.
Today, Nicole Sandler invites her listeners down to the swampy southland known as Florida (FloriDUH to most of us). Deborah Newell joins in for our weekly segment poking fun at FloriDUH, Sanders delegate to the DNC from Palm Beach County, Hillary Keyes, will fill us in on the process and what happens next. And Nicole pulls out a blast from the past - a 2007 interview with Debbie Wasserman Schultz to show how long she's been at odds with the (soon to be former?) DNC Chair.
What happened in Vegas...is very different from what you're being told. We must take back the narrative from the media and the DNC. Today, Nicole Sandler welcomes Angie Morelli to the show. Angie was on the floor at the NV Democratic Convention, and has been speaking out against the lies. Plus David Dayen explains the story of the foreclosure fraud judgement against Bank of America being overturned by an appeals court, and Dave Johnson joined in to talk about Obama, Vietnam and the TPP, and the new overtime rules too.
Mid-way through reading David Dayen's book, "Chain of Title," Nicole Sandler is thrilled to welcome the journalist and author to the show to discuss the foreclosure fraud that scammed the nation (and continues today). Plus the media continues lying about the presidential race, and She's History's Amy Simon discusses sexism in today's political world and more.
Nicole tells about her experience running to be a Bernie Sanders delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this summer, and her reasons for thinking the party will self-destruct before giving Bernie Sanders a fair shake. It's Monday, so Joel Silberman injects some dignity and words of wisdom as we inch closer to the general election.
