After an update on the news of the day, we welcome Howie Klein of DownWithTyranny.com and the Blue America PAC back to the show to talk politics.
After a recap of the day's news, I welcomed Dayna Steele back to the show. Dayna spent most of her adult life on the Houston airwaves, known as the First Lady of Rock & Roll. She's also an author, TV personality, entrepreneur, speaker and will hopefully be the first woman to represent Houston and Texas' 36th district in Congress.
What a night last night, huh? Keith Olbermann and I had the same thought at the same moment... that Donald Trump's campaign ended the moment he said he wouldn't commit to accepting the official election returns. Last night: subverts our elections. Today: jokes about it. My message to @realDonaldTrump: Burn In Hell. pic.twitter.com/q2gvPzYOLf — Keith Olbermann (@KeithOlbermann) October 20, 2016 Just don't get cocky or complacent about it as we still have to go out and vote. But, as Howie Klein said on the show today, he saw that moment in the debate last night as the opening for the [...]
Bernie Sanders with Zephyr Teachout in New Paltz, N.Y. on Friday. Ms. Teachout is running for the House of Representatives. NY Times. Are we all in love again yet? Come ON?! We are well under fifty days out here progressive peoples! Must be time for an injection of Bernie. The New York Times reports that from Zephyr Teachout to HRC, The Bern has his groove back and is uber-rebooted for the final round. NEW PALTZ, N.Y. — This crunchy college town, between the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains, feels like an ideal place for a Woodstock [...]
It's a busy day on the show, as Nicole Sandler hosts The Clash over Campaign Cash, a debate between Move to Amend's David Cobb and Shaun McCutcheon, who won his suit claiming aggregate limits on the amount of money an individual can contribute to a political party or the number of Federal candidates is unconstitutional at the Supreme Court. In the first hour, Nicole welcomes Tim Canova, the law professor and political activist challenging Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the primary. And Deborah Newell joins in for our Wednesday morning dip into the Oy FloriDUH files too.

Nicole is outraged over much of the news today, from the killing of Cecil the Lion by an American dentist, to Congress' 5 week vacation coming up while there's important work to be done. Deborah Newell Tornello joins in for our Oy FloriDUH segment (and to rant about the lion killer), and David Dayen explains the latest on the highway bill and more. Plus, Nicole airs her interview with Carl Safina, animal expert and author of "Beyond Words: What Animals Think and Feel" recorded last week.
Proving the old adage "Trust No One," there are two news stories that rely on deceptively edited videos to smear a person (Sandra Bland) and an organization (Planned Parenthood). Fellow Americans, you've reached a new all-time low. Deborah Newell Tornello is back for another installment of Oy, FloriDUH, and a political novice - Dr. Alina Valdes - runs for Congress.
